Background of Baraigram upazila

Background of the upazila: Natore district is the 3rd largest upazila in terms of population. Baraigram Thana was established on 29.5.1905 and became a police station on 14.9.1983.Nothing is known about the naming of Baraigram upazila. Two branches of the river Baral flow through this upazila. Most of the villages in the upazila are situated on both sides of the river Baral, hence it was called Baralgram.Over time, Baraigram originated from the river Baral. The forest area once filled with canals is now known as Baraigram.

The upazila is located at 24 ° 1 and 24 ° 21 north latitudes and 8 ° 01 and 89 ° 18 east longitudes respectively. Gurdaspur and Natore Sadar upazilas to the north of this upazila. Chatmohar upazila of Pabna district on the east, Lalpur of Natore district and Atgharia and Ishwardi upazilas of Pabna district on the south and Bagatipara upazila of Natore district on the west.
